About the Author

I’m a proud nerd and freelance writer. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, a Minor in Mass Communications/Media Studies, another Minor in Physics (all three from Auburn University) and I took several semesters of upper level Psychology courses at the University of South Alabama. So, you could say that I like learning, a LOT.

I love my purple converse. I miss the Oxford Comma. While we’re at it, I think Pluto should qualify as a planet again. I also love MEMES, LoFi Hip Hop (you’ll thank me later), Bar Trivia, Karaoke, The Office, Bubble (Boba) Tea, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (I’ve written several articles on Robotics), Neuroscience, Science Fiction, and Asian (specifically South Korean and Japanese) horror films!

Don’t worry; I still adhere to AP Style!

My free time consists of solving sudoku puzzles, playing video games, reading, making my own cryptograms, watching anime, playing Wizards Unite (the Harry Potter mobile AR game, WAY better than PoGo, fight me), or writing!

Add me on Wizards Unite!

I’m definitely a Ravenclaw and according to those Myers-Briggs tests, of which I’m wary, my personality type is that of an INJF.

💙 Ravenclaw 💙

If it isn’t already obvious, yes, I love the Harry Potter books. But I enjoy other books as well! Some of my favorites are: The Catcher in the Rye, Letters to a Young Poet, the Ender’s Game series, the Ender’s Shadow series, the Dark Tower series, The Great Gatsby, 1984, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, and more of which I can’t think!

I may be nerdy, but that doesn’t mean that I can’t love me some NCAA Football, especially if it’s the SEC! And since I attended Auburn, I can’t help but yell, “War Eagle!”

🧡 War Damn Eagle! 💙

I’m creative in a MacGyver-esque kind of way. Once, upon discovering that I had locked myself out of my house on a cold Winter morning, I tore off a long rag from a sheet with which we were covering plants, and used it to open my front door; we’ve since installed padlocks.

Freelance Writing and Editing

I’m Writing Nerdy!

I am a freelance writer with experience writing for various content mills, as well as for private clients. I’ve written everything you can imagine, from entertaining blog posts to OSHA Safety Manuals!

Some of my favorite quotes:

“Perhaps all the dragons of our lives are princesses who are only waiting to see us once beautiful and brave.” – “Letters to a Young Poet,” by Rainer Maria Rilke

“‘Well,’ said Pooh, ‘what I like best — ‘ and then he had to stop and think. Because although Eating Honey was a very good thing to do, there was a moment just before you began to eat it which was better than when you were, but he didn’t know what it was called.”– Winnie the Pooh

“Nobody realizes that some people expend tremendous energy merely to be normal.” – Albert Camus

“Don’t ever tell anybody anything. If you do, you start missing everybody.” – Holden Caulfield, “The Catcher in the Rye,” by J.D. Salinger

This site is dedicated to my Baby Kitty, Ender.

He was my best friend and got me through so many hard times; I literally wouldn’t be here now without him.

RIP Sweet Boy, 07/2004 – 05/2018

    • I wanted to cry when I read that it had been axed. It’s SO useful. What are we supposed to do about long, confusing lists??! RIP Oxford Comma.

I’m glad I found you too! I’m excited to follow your blog. Female nerds of the world… UNITE! Or something… erm… >.<
